NUTSCHE FILTERS
"Filtered" information The glass lined Nutsche filters made by Pfaudler. The separation of solid/liquid phases of suspensions is a process step that is quite frequent in process engineering. If a gross phase separation by way of sedimentation and subsequent decanting is not sufficient for reasons of process or substance, special filters are used.
In these filters, a fully glass lined perforated disk with a filter cloth is clamped in between a cylindrical upper part and a dished head. The filtrate is removed under vacuum - the resulting filter cake in itself acts as a filtrant.

Pfaudler glass lined filters are available in the following designs:
- Open Nutsche filters
- Pressurized Nutsche filters - used for substances with toxic or highly inflammable vapors or products which have to be protected against the ingress of air.
- Pressurized Nutsche filters for agitators - filters with a lifting and lowering device for a special agitator.
- The agitator is used for leveling or filling the filter cake and for evacuating the filter. The agitator slowly digs its way into the filter cake - the product is shifted to the reactor wall and discharged through a large nozzle.
- Filter dryer - the reactor is heated by a heating medium in the double jacket. The filtered-out solid can be dried up to a residual moisture < 1%.
